Grand Prix 2010-2011
The grand prix takes place during each of the regular chess tournaments from September 2010 - May 2011. In each section at each tournament, 1st place is awarded 5 points, 2nd place is awarded 3 points, 3rd place is awarded 2 points, and 4th place is awarded 1 point. In addition, each player who plays in a grand prix tournament receives 10 points just for playing. After the last regular tournament in May, the player with the most points wins a $50.00 gift certificate for anything at our chess store! There are two grand prix sections: rating < 1000 and rating 1000+. There are additional prizes awarded at each tournament for players who already have grand prix points.
